METRO has developed a program that explores major career options available to junior I/O and OD professionals, students, and those looking to make career transitions. Join us to hear early career and senior practitioners discuss the knowledge, skills, abilities and characteristics that employers are seeking and how they go about identifying suitable candidates. Also hear about the ins and outs of the job search from recent job seekers.
The program will include a panel discussion and breakout sessions where you will have an opportunity to talk with experts and colleagues directly about issues in your career development. This year our exciting group of panelists will include applied psychologists from IBM, SHL, MTV, Sirota Survey Intelligence, Onpoint HR Solutions, and several other firms.
Our esteemed group of panelists includes:
· Michael Bazigos, IBM
· Charmaine Swanevelder, SHL
· Willem Schelling, MTV
· Pete Rutigliano, Sirota
· Josh Endler, Onpoint HR Solutions
Additional speakers will be announced shortly.
The program will conclude with a general networking session where you'll have an additional opportunity to talk with experienced I/O and OD professionals.
Some of the issues and questions the panel will address are:
· Close-up explanation of the differences between the internal and external consultant role.
· What shifts in perspective we need to make given the current work environment?
· What technical and non-technical resources are available for help in the job search?
· How can I provide added value or distinguish myself from everyone else?
· Some perspectives on how careers progress.
· What do you want to see on my resume?
· Current trends in the job markets
· Internships - are they out there, are they worth it, and how do I get one?
