Incorporating Network Science into Leadership Development

Please join us Virtually for this Skills Workshop

This session is open to all members, including students

In today's interconnected world, the ability to build and leverage professional networks can significantly enhance leadership capabilities, drive organizational success, and foster personal growth. Unfortunately, development efforts traditionally have focused overwhelmingly on improving leaders' human capital (i.e., their knowledge, skills, and abilities), paying insufficient attention to leaders’ ability to build and use their social capital (i.e., the goodwill and resources available through their network connections).

This 60-minute session will introduce attendees to a simple and impactful way to incorporate network science into leadership development and coaching using the Leader Network Diagnostic (LND). The LND is an innovative, research-based tool designed to help leaders assess and enhance the openness, diversity, and depth of their networks and the resources their network connections provide. We will share how two Global 500 companies have successfully integrated the LND into their leadership development initiatives, resulting in improvements in leaders' networks over time, which have helped leaders span organizational silos to create integrated solutions, prepare to transition to senior roles, and have informed return-to-office policies that promote network development in a world of increasingly hybrid work.

If you would like to experience taking the Leader Network Diagnostic yourself, you can complete it using this link. Please note that to receive your response, we ask that you sign up for a debrief session with my Network Leader colleague Tim Davission (tim@networkleader.com).
