We will explore the fundamental concepts, recent research, and cutting-edge developments in this inescapable technology while getting our hands dirty with tools like ChatGPT, Claude, and GoogleLM. Dive into the deep end with the METRO community as we strip away the hype and experiment with some practical use cases for the workplace and beyond. By the end of this workshop, you will have a working knowledge of what GenAI is and what it isn't, ethical considerations, technical limitations, how to get started, where to look next, and a community of people to share your experiences. While we will explore many examples of Generative AI through the lens of Applied Psychology, this workshop will benefit professionals from all disciplines and experience levels with the technology. About the Speaker Jared Weintraub holds an M.A. and Ph.D. in I/O Psychology from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology and Hofstra University, respectively. He is a People Analytics Manager at Deloitte, earning several certifications from the Deloitte GenAI Academy and publishing on GenAI. He is an Adjunct Professor at NYU and President Emeritus of METRO, the New York Metropolitan Association of Applied Psychology. His research explores the practical applications of generative AI, workplace nudges, mindfulness, and Flow Theory to help organizations and professionals flourish.
